Busy, busy

Sadly the whitewater rafting trip fell through on the weekend - people got sick, damn them. But that left more time to get a certain present-project organized and watch The White Countess (good acting, simplistic story). Due to Ivory's death, TWC is going to be the Last Merchant-Ivory Movie EVAR. I guess this means "Die Hard in a Drawing Room" will never happen. *sigh*
What else? On Saturday I treated my mother to a belated mother's day tea service at the Urban Tea Company. She made a comment about the scones being crumbly (she used to bake scones for local stores) and this sent the waiters in the management into a tizzy. Every staff member in the place was soon rushing up and apologizing profusely for the consistency of the scones, much to our embarassment. It was like Fawlty Towers, but with style. :)
Last week: went to nice restaurants, played poker, got killed in my first trip to the poker room in a casino (so that's what this "no limits" thing means? Ouch!), watched more films, went sailing, hiking, did research and writing. That's it so far.
Should be coming back to Bloomington next week, providing all's well with the passport. Finger's crossed!

Oh and if you get into town this weekend Hubby and I will be gone but fret not, we have a person to feed Red Shirt. Who is doing fine BTW and very cute in an ornery cranky "don't mess with me kind of way."

Date: 2006-06-25 04:24 pm (UTC)2) Thanks for the call last night. I assumed the party had been canceled because of Dan's father's situation, and was out doing less fun things instead. OK, they were still fun, but it would have been great to see everyone. :(
