Fingers crossed
Jan. 17th, 2007 10:53 pmJust sent the first Official Prospectus draft out to the committee.
It's kind of like auditioning to be a rodeo clown: I've dressed myself up in ridiculous and unfamiliar professional garb and have volunteered to be chased around the ring by savage beasts/academics. That's nervewracking enough. But you know what would be worse? Jumping into the ring and *not* being chased around by savage academics. Then you're just a clown standing in the middle of bullshit.
I could do more with this metaphor but I won't. Or can't, because I'm tired and the day is still not finished yet.
Today:
The Good: The pilates class I took today was very good. I have high hopes of it forever erasing the bad memories of the body-conscious fish-flopping sorostitute class I had.
The Bad: finding out I may be out of a paycheck. The prof I work for as an RA has run out of funding but still owes me $. He says he'll write me a personal check. We'll see. Coming on top of a major IU funding snafu, this could signal a tight semester for me, cash-wise.
The Mellow: The Feist/Nouvelle Vague mix is nice, but I definitely prefer NV to Feist. I promise to burn copies for those of you who are NV deprived. See? My good deed of the day.
The Work to Come: Class prep! Reading! 750 words of crap! Sleep!
