Absolutely nothing exceptional has happened so far today whatsoever. I went to my historiography seminar. I went for coffee. I went for more coffee and had office hours with a student in which we both tip-toed around the fact that neither of us particularly wanted to be there. Still to do: marking! Reading! Presentation questions for tomorrow!

I'm in a good mood, though, because I managed to get some creative writing done last night for the first time since the semester started, and then I watched Nightmare on Elm Street, which I'd never seen before, and it amused me considerably. What made it especially good was knowing that Wes Craven was an ex-high school English teacher, so that scene with the girl almost-fatally dozing off in the middle of Shakespeare has to be the result of some wish-fulfillment fantasy cristalized over years of teaching that class. :)

I love analyzing movies based on the history of the writers. The Piano is great knowing Campion's anthropological history.
