The TJI Friday's 3 course special is a lot of food. It's all chicken and pasta and bad-for you-appetizers, of course, but it's still highly satisfying. I couldn't get through all of the dessert, but as usual it took a while to convince myself of this. :)
Managed to turn in a good day of work on the exam list / proposal. It's coming together, slowly, but surely. A lot of the delay is sorting through theorists and deciding who will be useful to me and who isn't, which in turn means admitting to myself that no, I will not have time to read more dystopian theory, and the maritime law can probably wait til another time. I'm learning some peculiar things in the process, like the fact that for 300 years or so a nation's control over adjacent oceans was 3 miles, because that's how far a cannon ball would travel. I'm also reading _The Italian_ which is much less effusive than Udolfo and features rampaging monks who are much better behaved than most gothic monks tend to be. (they keep it in their pants, in other words.)
Media watching: I'm still waiting on disk 2 of s2 Battlestar. I think the show has actually got stronger into the 2nd season - I'm impressed that they're treating the fallout of the finale in depth instead of resolving it in a couple episodes.
This week was Ep 100 for Smallville. I thought it was fairly good by Smallville standards. Can I just reiterate that I really want Lex Luthor to take over as the hero though? The Luthors are just much more interesting than any of the other characters. Oh well, in a perfect world I'll eventually get to see a Sopranos style supervillain show, but til then I'll just have to settle for Smallville. :)
Other news: yoga was far less traumatic than I'd expected. My previous experience involved a lot of flopping over in helpless turtle positions, with legs and arms scrambling in the air. But Monday's class featured no helpless turtle-flopping, so I guess I'll keep it up.
I'm thinking of buying some beta fish. Any thoughts?

And what was the deal with Ma Kent going from looking like a slightly-past-her-prime hottie to looking like a wrinkled old crone? Did her botox wear off or something? I thought that was a bit much.
