Random updates, part deux

As far as the exam reading goes, Melmoth the Wanderer is now one of my favorite gothic novels EV-ER. That's some crazy shit!
This weekend I watched four episodes of Battlestar Galactica, Season 2. Sadly, my new copy of Entertainment Weekly managed to spoil a few plot twists for me, but the show is great. I just wish I could watch the current episodes!
Sunday's game was fabulous. For more on Changeling, read on.
WOW. "The Parliament of the Apocalypse" was a super-duper high concept game. People went all out for this one, and everything - from the costumes to the set design to the plotting - was great.
One of the neat things about this game is that everyone had background knowledge to rp with. Usually in a political game you have to spend a lot of time memorizing names and affiliations. In this game... well, it wasn't exactly *crystal clear,* but when plot twists happened (like the reveal of Loki), the reactions were more natural because a lot of people knew who/what the character was.
Quick run-down of fabulous things:
The Set Design and Costumes - I said it before but I'll say it again. Wow.
Kali and Durga - scary, scary mo-fos. The twin-like partial conversation thing was *very* unsettling. I was originally planning on having Chet plot with Kali, but had to give up because Kali was just too damn scary, even for a "muck-raking sluagh."
The PCs - for a team that was picked by haphazard fate, I think we did pretty well.
Arawn - who kept informing Chet of the various mortal perils of Stark. And then started a rumor about a Lucifer/Blood Goddess alliance that caused Chet's team to use up a significant favor.
The Forgotten God - great concept. Pity Chet won't remember it.
Bryan Roberts as Coyote - wonderful performance. Spot-on casting.
Carmen - for giving Chet the opportunity to diss Muses in order to save it. Cihuacoatl's offer should make for an interesting Chronicle headline.
Margaret as Baba Yaga. So long, and thanks for all the baby fingers.
The down-to-the-wire plotting over the mae(?) stone.
The dire consequences that await 6 poor unfortunates thanks to Chet's deal with the "escape the underworld" goddess brigade.
Jason, as Loki, giving Chet his dubious favor, and planning to sleep with her at a later date.
Ditto for Baron Samedi (and props to a great performance from Eric).
All the other gods who agreed to aid Chet's plotting - awesome! The regular-game consequences of this are going to be rather scary...
Tangent Online has .reviewed the first issue of Son & Foe (both
theswantower and I have stories appearing in it). It's a positive review of the magazine, but it only really gives plot summaries of the stories. Still, all press is good press!

Oh. And I could probably get you up to date on BSG Season 2. I have much of the season on my computer, still.
