And now what you've all been waiting for: my roundup & reviews of British sweets.

In 4th place: Cadbury Buttons: Because they're cute and have great texture.

In 3rd place: the Cadbury's Doubledecker: a filling bar that's crispy and chewy at the same time.

In 2nd place: Wispa: Like the inside of the Aero bar, which is what we all want to eat anyway, right?

And in first place:

...the Bar of Plenty Toffee Apple bar. It tastes very similar to Godiva's Harvest Truffle, but it's in bar form! Just like the Harvest Truffle, it sounds unattractive but is actually a gorgeous (though sweet) flavour combo.

REMOVED FROM COMPETITION BECAUSE I CAN GET THEM IN CANADA BUT OH, THEY ARE SO GOOD

Maltesers are apparently an American chocolate, but they don't seem to be widely distributed in the States. Canadians and Brits love them though. Why? Because THEY ARE AWESOME. Mellow milk chocolate with a sophisticated crunch to them = addictive.

Jelly Babies - OK, so technically not chocolate, but worth gobbling anyway. They're jelly sweets in the shape of babies. Do I need to explain the sadistic appeal of this? I hope not.

The Cadbury Flake bar - Pretty much THE chocolate for dipping in things. It doesn't hold together well because of its very nature, but it is oh, so tasty.

The Cadbury "Fruit and Nut" bar, oh, I know you can get Hershey's substitutes here, and they *seem* ok, but the originals are more satisfying.

Quality Street chocolate boxes I happen to be a fan of The Green Triangle and The Purple One. Something for everyone here.

...and I'l stop there, because I'm making myself hungry. But ah, I miss the chocolate.

I wish it were possible to get a wider range of Cadbury's chocolates over here. They have so very many good ones. (My personal favorite is the Picnic, but mileage varies.)

a Brit won't consider an icecream cone to be legit unless it has a flake bar in it.
