Writing this entry without Internet, so it’s to post later. I’m watching QI (“Quite Interesting”), which for those of you who are *not* aficionados of British panel shows, is rather like a dinner party hosted by Stephen Fry, except without dinner. A rotating panel of “Stephen’s friends” get asked obscure questions on everything from Biblical history to biology, and they get points for giving the wittiest or most “interesting” answer, negative points for giving a predictable answer, and an occasional point for getting something right.
The winner of today’s program has -24 points. I gather that means that some money goes to his charity. In the meantime I have learned that feet are measured in barleycorns, which I may have known at one point, but which I’d forgotten. Thank you, Stephen Fry.
