HBO's Rome to hit big screen? The script is finished, and it turns out a character who looked like a goner in the series finale actually survived. Who knew?

Guy Ritchie Up For "Excalibur" Tale

This "Excalibur" is based on a rather wild treatment by comic author Warren Ellis which is said to be "more in the tone of Star Wars". Unlike other Arthurian adaptations, this one is "very specifically about the gathering of the Knights". A writer is being sought to turn Ellis' treatment into a full script.

While it won't be Kripke running the show, that report isn't actually as grim as I feared it would be - the folks who will be in charge aren't new idiots brought in from no where, and it sounds like Kripke will still be in the loop, at least.

I'm glad there's GOING to be a season 6...though I'm currently waaaaaaay behind on Season 5 (haven't watched any of the new episodes since the mid-season break)....I think at this point I'm saving them on purpose so that I can marathon them and not have horrifying cliff hangers...

I'm still very dubious of a sixth season. It's good to hear Sera Gamble's taking over, not some random stranger, but I think they're going to face the same structural problems Buffy did after their fifth season, and (depending on how S5 ends) I might prefer to just stop there, at the end of the planned arc, rather than continue on to something without that sense of direction.

You know, i watched Rome with a friend, and she and i decided that we thought Said Character was still alive. There was so much other deception going on there (and how can you break up the man love? ;).
