Writer says Holocaust 'memoir' not true
This is a particularly interesting story for those of us interested in victimhood as identity. What gives me particular pause, though, is the book's basic description:
BRUSSELS, Belgium - A Belgian writer has admitted that she made up her best-selling "memoir" depicting how, as a Jewish child, she lived with a pack of wolves in the woods during the Holocaust, her lawyers said Friday.
A... pack... of... wolves?
Seriously. Nobody thought this might be fictional?
