Today I feel like talking about some cool things that other people do.

First, I'm sad that I missed Martha McDonald's performance at the U. I heard about it afterward, and it sounded fabulous. McDonald's work is at the intersection of material culture and art -- in her last project, she made a series of Victorian mourning garments and "performed" the ritual of mourning in the 19C. Apparently the highlight was a beautiful dress she made out of crepe paper and then wore out in the rain, to simulate the body stains produced by Victorian dyes. I can't find a photo of that dress, but here's a photo of another mourning dress that she knitted. That's right - *knitted.*

Second, if you're going to LARP, why not make it a Fallout LARP? Why not play it in an abandoned SILO base in Russia? And why not have it look like this?
