Mar. 25th, 2006 04:46 pmSaw _V for Vendetta_ last night, and really enjoyed it. Of course it *was* my kind of movie - people running around sci-fi London in cloaks, quoting Literature and blowing up things. Nevertheless, I think if people know they're going to see a *dystopian* movie rather than an action film, it'll do well at the box office.
So, it made me think. *What* it made me think, I don't quite know yet. I have to ponder it. My fave scenes: probably the flashback/flashforward domino scene, the final removal of masks, and the excellent torture/flashback scene (which seemed to be very closely translated from the graphic novel). It's nice to be able to say "that looked exactly like a comic book" and mean it in the best possible way.
Other things:
Moderated conference panels this morning; bought fabric panels this afternoon. Plan to read and cook in the evening.
