Feb. 1st, 2006 06:33 pmJust back from a run, and feeling all virtuous because I actually exercised. Now I'm taking a few minutes to decide whether I want to see if I can get a last-minute ticket to _Chicago_, or whether I just want to relax and prep for class tomorrow. (Hmmm...)
The booksale fundraiser seems like it's off to a good start. I just about broke my arms off carrying boxes of books to BH last night - it took 1 1/2 hrs to move half the books out of my apartment, and I still have more boxes to go. But eventually we got a whole pile of books prepped and ready, and the sale is now a go. (Yes!)
I started a new job today. I'm working as an assistant to a blind professor. Can I just say what a relief it is to be charging around trying to organize someone *else's* life? I highly recommend it, particularly if it pays.
I also want to make some movie recommendations: I saw Millennium Actress yesterday, and thought it was a really neat little anime movie with some interesting framing devices. At
drydem's urging I also saw 2046. Gorgeous, but a little too "arty" for its own good. I want those dresses though...
In other news, fans of _The Ice Storm_ (the movie or the book) might want to go see Rick Moody (the author) talk this Thursday at 8pm in Rose Firebay at the John Waldron Arts Center.
