Back from the dead, again...
Sep. 6th, 2004 01:45 pmI apologize for being well, dead to the Net for the last week or so. This first week has hit me hard, much harder than it should have... Basically, I forgot how much work teaching a course you've never taught before can be. Between that, the two seminars, the Spanish exam and the prerequisite "What am I doing with my life?!" grad student crises, I feel like an Oreo cookie in a Dairy Queen Blizzard -- and this is only the first week!
But today, at least, I think things are settling down into a more-or-less in control sort of pattern. My overhead projector blew out in my second class today (the one I've just finished teaching) and I managed to blow it off and finish the lesson without having any stress monkeys. Of course this might be the partial effect of the whoppin' huge chocolate-chip pancakes I had for brunch at the Runcible Spoon. Why, oh why, have I never tried the chocolate chips before? They make everything worth it. Screw this health food thing!
