Just when I thought I'd successfully quit my 24 habit, they had to go and cast Eddie Izzard to join the cast. Eddie Izzard????
Meanwhile, MGM has decided it wants to make _The Hobbit_ as a tentpole movie in the next two years - or better still, break it into *two* tentpole movies, with Peter Jackson directing.
(Urm... The Hobbit is a short book, folks...)
Speaking of Peter Jackson, he's just optioned the Novik's historical fantasy/fighting dragon series Temeraire. Haven't read the books, but anything featuring dragons in the Napoleonic wars can't be all bad.
For those of you interested in TV land, apparently _Ugly Betty_, _Studio 60 Live on Sunset Strip_, and _The Nine_ are the new shows to watch this season.
