Berkeley
Now that I've had some sleep, and a chance to hook up to the net...
The Berkeley conference is going well. My paper seems to have been well received (just got some independant confirmation of that) which makes me feel a *lot* better. The lead-up to it was fairly nerve wracking - I'd managed to not get any sleep the night before, rewrote part of it in the morning and then had problems printing, and had my fellow panelist fall sick mere hours neforehand, so that it was touch and go if I presented that day at all. But behold, everything came together at the last moment.
Now I'm just trying to get in as many panels/events as possible, while also checking out Berkeley and San Fran. I last visited San Francisco as a kid, and my sole memory of the city was that it had very cute robotic toy dogs. Now that I'm older I'm aware of other attractions as well, though there's very little time to do and see things. Nevertheless, I'm just back from my first excursion on the BART, which saw me successfully negotiate Chinatown and the trolly system. Woot!
Tomorrow I'll hopefully get in some genuine sightseeing, and then I'll be flying back into Indy on Monday around 7pm. And that's *it* for conferences this semester.
