I admit to thinking of giving up LJ during its latest spate of non-functionality. But when I logged back on and saw all the friends updates awaiting me I thought... nah.

I like the blog format and the accumulated history of lj too much to let it go easily. Plus, in weeks like this where so many of my friends are sharing good news and bad, it makes me realize how easy it is to miss Important Stuff on Facebook. (G+ I can't speak for - not enough experience yet.)

LJ is my favorite format for blogging/social internet stuff, but I like having Facebook/G+/Twitter around when I need to get drunk and snark a bad movie.

I would have missed you muchly. I like lj for its privacy (my mom doesn't even know i have one, and i've had it for ten years now) and for its ability to met me expound at length. This latest round feels, more so than the last, like people are giving up on lj, and that's making me sadder than i would have thought.
