In Vancouver

Wow, I'm tired.

No, really. The combination of exercise + jet lag + painfully little sleep has flattened me. But I have enough energy to type a little post, oh mighty lj. I hope you're impressed.

Yesterday we went to the Vancouver Aquarium to see the baby beluga whale that was born there earlier this month. And yes it was cute. But the real OMG cuteness award goes to the unbelievably adorable sea otters who were sunning themselves in a nearby pool. They look like stuffed toys and they... they... hold hands! Words cannot describe how cute they are. I'll post a youtube video of them shortly.

My sister challenged me to complete the Grouse Grind, a fairly difficult hiking trail near our house, so of course I had to do it. Excruciating pain followed, but I made it to the top. Photographic proof of this unlikely event will probably be appearing on Facebook sometime soon. I managed to get some nice shots of a) suffering people b) the wolves and c) hawks, which will no doubt also appear shortly. But that's it for now - I want to post the otter video so that you can all have a brighter day.

Warning: the Cuteness goes to 11.

Sea otters in the Vancouver Aquarium, holding hands. Words cannot begin describe it.

(Which is also a way of saying that I don't have audio on this computer, so I apoologize if the video is full of the sound of squealing Japanese schoolgirls. Just tune them out and watch the otters, yo. )
